john swanson, drummer — linda bracamonte band
John Swanson started playing drums at the age of seven, and played in school bands, orchestras, jazz groups, musical theater, and club bands throughout his educational years. John took a long break from drumming between 1990 and 2005, as career and domestic interests took precedence over musical pursuits.
In 2005, John met Linda Bracamonte, who just happened to be in the market for a drummer for the new Linda Bracamonte Band. A desire to play again met up with a unique opportunity. John didn’t want to play with just any band; he wanted to play with talented artists his own age, who play the music he likes, and for the same reasons, and he wanted to practice this art with people he enjoyed spending time with. It was a tall order, and he was fortunate enough to find it. He loves being a part of the Linda Bracamonte Band.
John is an Environmental Scientist with the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board. He has been married for 19 years, and has two beautiful daughters. His interests include music, sports, science, politics, and watching his daughters cheer at high school football games, basketball games, and cheer competitions. John’s musical interests are varied and cover all genres.
